In Switzerland, Reiki is regulated by the ASCA, an official body. The ASCA is made up of doctors and non-physicians. It regulates more than a hundred unconventional medicine therapies. In Switzerland, to be able to practice Reiki, practitioners must have successfully completed studies provided by schools approved by the ASCA. The practice of Reiki can only be practiced by registered health practitioners such as doctors, naturopaths, nurses, for example. The Reiki practitioner must carry out another registered main activity in the field of health. It takes more than 250 hours of training to become a Reiki practitioner.
