The Ecuadorian legislator has legislated on the teaching and practice of alternative medicines, the public utility of which he has recognized. Reiki is one of them.

 

On September 13, 2016, the “Regulations for the practice of alternative therapies” were launched. Ministerial Agreement N. 00000037 was symbolically handed over, as recognition of alternative therapists within the national health system, in the auditorium of the Nueva Aurora Luz Elena Arismendy Obstetric and Gynecological Hospital in Quito.

The event is part of the achievement of one of the objectives of the Agreement, which is to regulate, control and monitor the practice of alternative therapies developed by alternative therapists.

The regulation applies to all activities related to the development and practice of alternative therapies in the national health system.

There are many independent Reiki practitioners in Ecuador.
