The Brazilian government has recognized the usefulness of several complementary therapies, which is why there are several federal and local laws that approve them. The modalities of energy medicine are included in these laws.

In March 2017, the Ministry of Health of Brazil established a national order that formalizes the display and usefulness of several integrative and complementary therapies. This order is a sum of 6 previous regulations and includes therapies such as art therapy, meditation, music therapy, naturopathy, osteopathy, chiropractic, reflexotherapy, Reiki and yoga, among others.

This means that in Brazil there is a national policy for integrative and complementary therapies, which the federal government approves and finances. This is an important shift toward holistic healthcare and integrative medicine.
